Converting FMS models for ClearView

Converting Planes

Guide and tutorial to aid new modellers wishing to convert existing models created for FMS to the ClearView flight simulator. This guide covers basic conversion techniques to create a model that will fly and have animated control surfaces.

This guide expects that you have a reasonable knowledge of the tools involved

To accomodate problems with some browsers a few images have been reduced in size. These images are outlined in red and are a link. Clicking on these pictures will display them at full resolution (or as your browser is configured). To return to the guide use your browser's back button.

This guide is best viewed at a resolution of 800*600 or better. However, users of Microsoft Internet Explorer may notice that the menu on the right moves across the text or out to the right at lower resolutions or if the window size is reduced. Unfortunately this is due IE itself and is not present in other standards complient browsers such as Opera or Firefox.

This guide has had its picture sizes reduced sufficiently so that the effect is only present below when the window is less than 800 pixels wide.
